So I went browsing through the boys section of Toys 'R' Us. Much to my surprise I found some Transformers that actually weren't Transformers Animated and discovered that it was or is the Transformers 25th Anniversary. So on that note, who's your favorite Transformer (or transformers) out of any toy line, any cartoon series, what have you?

We Did It, Big Bot by thweatted

Guess who else turns 25 this year. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, complete with old school inspired toys for the occasion. I still have my old Ninja turtles in a bin somewhere, goofy ones like the rock band, and clowns, and sports. Good times. So yeah, you can reminisce about them too.

I think last year was the year of the Cabbage Patch Kid and the Care Bear.

:iconteentitans:

The quality and durability of toys ain't what it used to be.
================================================

Not being totally satisfied with the Anniversary version of Cheetor (who is more like a Beast Wars/ Beast Machines hybrid, he doesn't even have the gun) I ordered a classic style Cheetor from Amazon for a reasonable price. I think I damaged the package trying to pull the thing out of the mail box. I love this one. And oh yeah, it's in Japanese. The box is a keeper. He also came with a card and some other paperwork I can't read.

Click for larger view.

================================================

I remember playing TMNT when I was little (as in pretending to be TMNT) and I got stuck being Donatello when I wanted to be Raph, but this other kid got to be Raph instead. Afterwards, I started paying more attention to Don, and he actually became my favorite. Weird how that works.

One thing that always bothered me is that I never had all 4 of any set of the turtles and I had no "normal" ones, which is why this sucked me in. The anniversary toys each come with punch-out weapons and a CD with one of the first episodes on it (the eps in the Volume 1 DVD). Here's the back of the package. I LOL at the naked Shredder and Krang accessory.

Long live the Rat King.

Say, did you you get the new Cheetor under the Transformers Universe Classics line? They're given him a better beast form, but turned him into a robot ninja.

I'm far too young to have seen anything other then Animated and the movie. And I can't remember Beast Wars too well, though my brother really liked that one and so did I.
But I suppose I like Wasp, Starscream, Blitzwing, Frenzy, Ironhide, and Optimus Prime (Movie version) best.

I'm probably a little out of place here, since I've only ever really liked Animated. And from that, Bulkhead and Wreck-Gar get my vote.

I've always favored G1 Optimus Prime and Megatron. What can I say? They're classic rivals. Their attitudes were hard core and their designs were awesome.

That's always been an issue for me whenever someone remakes Transformers and screws with their designs. You just can't mess with them, they are the definitive Prime and Megatron.
Accept no substitutes.

Know what else is celebrating it's 25th anniversary? Dragon Ball, though it's apparent it won't be a very festive occasion.

I'm celebrating my 25th this year too! Wow! It really makes me feel nostalgic for all the things that used to rock!

My top Transformer would have to be Waspinator (Beast Wars), without question. His entire existence is one big running gag, and it's always funny to see him get pounded.

"Why universe hate Waspinator?"

I'm glad they gave Waspy some happiness in the end, but then Beast Machines came and ruined his fun. Why couldn't they let him die happy? :(

I wished I could have gotten all the Transformers that formed Devastator. I only had two and they were the arms. I had Jetfire, but I probably had more Go-Bots than anything. I also had Soundwave.

Also your comment on the quality and durability of toys is absolutely true. The new toys are SO MUCH BETTER. My old G1 Transformers are broken messes of garbage, but I've never had any of them break on me after about the Beast Wars era.

In a similar vein, thank god for the death of detachable fists, cannons, etc. with no place to put them in the alternate mode. My old toys always had to fight with their fists-- or in Optimus Prime and Starscream's case, their handless stumps-- because every single accessory eventually got lost, if not immediately upon opening the toy in the car.

I've been a fan all my life-- in fact, I share my real name with a minor but important character from the G1 Marvel comics.

And yet, my favorite character of all time is one of the very newest.

Beast Wars/Machines: Silverbolt, Blackarachinia, Cheetor, Waspinator, Nightscream, Dinobot, Botanica, Rattrap

Film: Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Barricade

I don't really watch Ani, so I can't talk much about it.

Can't wait for the next movie.

Well, who doesn't love Starscream? But aside from him, my favorite might have to be Galvatron. For one, he was super bad-ass with the Leonard Nimoy voice in the '86 movie, and for two, he was freakin' insane in the TV series. Although he went back to the Frank Welker Megatron voice in the show, he grew increasingly more nutty. In one episode the other decepticons take him to a living asylum planet, where he rants and raves, shoots at random people, and infects the entire planet with his psychosis by episode's end. That's awesome.

And Optimus, because hell, he's Optimus.

Optimus Primes ALWAYS been my favorite. Why? Cause he was THE transformers toy I owned, and still own (His fists are missing though. They were detachable for when he transformed.)

Also, on a side note, since they did a crossover once I think, I liked Nugget, and Sticks and Stone from the Rock Lords too. (Rock Lords was a transformers rip-off, cept instead of turning into vehicles they turned into rocks. Nugget was a gold nugget who, in the cartoon, the visor thing that covered his head kept falling down, I think, and Sticks and Stones was a two headed bad guy.)

Wheeljack from the old G1 cartoon, because he was so eccentric and most likely to blow up his own team mates and smile about it.

From Animated, probably Ratchet because he's an old crotch.

I'll just narrow it down to the three series I know the most:

G1: Grimlock and Soundwave, probably. Followed by Shockwave. I just love the dinobots and those two Decepticons the most.

Beast Wars: Dinobot is probably my ultimate favorite. Followed by Waspinator, Tarantulas, Rattrap, and Silverbolt. Airazor was another one of my favorites as a kid, but it kinda sucks what they did with her and Tigatron later on.

Animated: A little trickier to decide, since a lot of the characters aren't too fleshed out, but Grimlock is great. So is Wreck-Gar and Blurr, the latter turning out even more awesome than the original G1 counterpart. I'll also have to add Waspinator even though we've only seen Wasp before becoming Waspinator in the series thus far. Waspinator's new design is just fantastic.

my brother had a few G1 eppies taped, plus I found some online. Optimus and Bumblebee for the Autobots.

Starscream and Soundwave for the decepticons though.

I don't care for old G1 Blitzwing, but the TFA one cracks me up and is easily my favorite decepticon on that show.
