It's annoying yes, but if you want to get mad then get mad at the spammers who started it and all the idiots who clicked on the links, forcing the IT folks to come up with the quickest solution possible to protect users and the website.

I don't think it's THAT annoying, but the only external dA link I have ever clicked on in my entire life was the link to the picture of ALF that TVsKyle posted yesterday.

dammit!

At first I wasn't sure what everyone was complaining about, then I tried clicking on a link...stupid feature...I'm guessing this is thanks to all the people that fell for that damn virus/phising program that was disguised as a comment.

It's a response to the spam attacks. If people weren't dumb enough to click on the damn things and enter in their passwords, they wouldn't do things like this. Maybe the need will die down.

it's mostly an annoying safety feature DA introduced in response to those hacked comments that lead to unsafe websites I think....annoying, yes, especially if it's a link to a youtube website or something.

They did it because of the virus spreading around...

Well, you know the reason why they did it. It's all those new phishing tricks that have been grabbing up account passwords right and left. This way, people have to pay attention to where a link leads and so have a harder time getting hijacked. I still don't think it's a very good fix for the problem, but I can certainly see why they did it.

I can't help but to agree. It's not necessarily going to keep people from saying, "Screw you, dA, I'm clicking the link regardless! I look at pages outside of dA all the time!"
